Ridgefield Raptors' Impact on Bend Elks' Playoff Success
The Ridgefield Raptors played a crucial role in the Bend Elks securing a playoff position in the West Coast League for the second consecutive year. While the Elks were engaged in nonleague games, the Raptors' recent sweep of the Walla Walla Sweets ensured that Bend would clinch a postseason spot. Despite being informed that their games were not essential, the Elks maintained focus and won their final series against the Cowlitz Black Bears, solidifying their playoff berth.
With a strong finish to the season, including a dramatic walk-off victory by shortstop Benji Solana, the Elks earned the No. 3 seed and will face the No. 2 Corvallis Knights in a three-game playoff series. Throughout the summer, the Elks demonstrated resilience, overcoming challenges to achieve an overall record of 28-25. The contributions of local players, including standout performances from recent high school graduates, further highlighted the team's depth and determination as they head into the playoffs.

Star Wars In Concert - a complete experience!
This phenomenal "show" was a treat for all the senses. The performance by the Royal Philharmonic orchestra was beautiful, and just as anxious as the young children to have my photo taken with "Boba Fett", add the witty narration by Anthony Daniels. Top that off with the exhibit hall of priceless props, costumes, and characters, and any movie lover is in heaven, and strong enough to stand on its own. The episodic nature of the musical movements are wonderfully edited, and makes your hair stand on end with adrenaline and awe. Anthony Daniels was an absolute treat, and feature all the favorite characters and themes, but each piece was extremely enjoyable. I was overjoyed to see John Williams' original manuscript of The Phantom Menace score, and the show wouldn't have been the same without his perfectly delivered monologues. The masterfully timed special effects of light, fog, fire and sound, and the fantastic digital images of the films, and you have a unique and thrilling experience. The show was a phenomenal experience, and I would not only go see this show again, but I would purchase a DVD recording of it if they release one!
